In the presence of His Excellency Dr. Khalid Omar Al Madfa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Thiqa Club for the Disabled, His Excellency Brigadier Faisal bin Nassar, Director General of Community Protection and Prevention at Sharjah Police General Headquarters, Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Qaid Al Hammadi, Acting Executive Director of the Club, Mr. Abdul Ghafour Al Raisi, Board Member, and a number of other dignitaries and officials, the first day of the Al Thiqa Ramadan Futsal Tournament kicked off amidst an exceptionally well-organized atmosphere reflecting the tournament's sporting and community significance.
The opening day's results saw Sharjah Police General Headquarters team defeat Al Thiqa Club for the Disabled (A) team 6-1 in a match characterized by high sportsmanship and positive competition between the two sides.
Al Qasimia University team also secured a victory over Sharjah Asset Management team 8-1, confirming their strong start to the tournament.
This tournament is part of the Ramadan programs and events organized annually by Al Thiqa Club for the Disabled, with the aim of promoting the concepts of social inclusion, consolidating the values of cooperation and partnership between institutions, and providing an opportunity to practice sports in a competitive atmosphere characterized by brotherhood and mutual respect.
