A Sports Day Full of Basketball at Al Thiqa Club with the Participation of Special Olympics and a Japanese Delegation
A sports day was held today at Al Thiqa Club for People with Disabilities in cooperation with the UAE Special Olympics. The event included a basketball training workshop and a friendly match between the UAE Special Olympics team and the youth team of Al Hamriya Sports Club, with the participation of a Japanese sports delegation specializing in basketball.
The event was attended by Mohammed Abdullah Al Qaid Al Hammadi, Acting Executive Director of Al Thiqa Club; Amr Mohammed Badawi, Head of the Sports and Training Unit at the UAE Special Olympics; and Emad Othman, Basketball Expert at the Sharjah Sports Council.
This event is part of efforts to strengthen international sports cooperation, promote inclusive sports, and exchange technical expertise, contributing to the development of players' skills and raising the level of performance in basketball, in a positive sporting atmosphere that reflects the message of sports in empowering people with disabilities.
